Hello from the Brayton PTO!

The Brayton Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a diverse group of parents, guardians, teachers and administrators dedicated to our children’s well being.

Important PTO Membership and Directory Dates

Key Website Dates that impact your Brayton PTO user accounts!! Please read!

As we get closer to the beginning of the school year, there are a few dates you need to know about as a website user.

For incoming new Brayton Families: Your website account will be created via an upload from the district with your Genesis data.  Please be sure to opt in to sharing data with the PTO.

For existing Brayton Families:

  1. During the week of August 25, 2025 - the directory will be taken offline. New data provided by the district will be uploaded with a hopeful available date of September 1.

** Please note: The data that is shared to the PTO by the district is only done with your permission via the Genesis system. As you complete the mandatory back to school forms in Genesis over the next few weeks, there is an option you select to share your data with the PTO. If you do not share your data with the PTO, you will not receive any communication from the PTO at all. This is the source of the distribution list for our weekly emails. You also will not have an account in our system to allow you to join things like After School Enrichment. If you are able, please choose to share your data with the PTO. You can always restrict any information from appearing in the family directory. (See #2 below)**
  2. After the data is newly available in our Brayton PTO system, you will have 3 days to verify your data and confirm the information you would like included in our family directory.
  3. You will be able to make your annual donation to the PTO during your account data validation process. We thank you in advance for your contributions that make our programming possible!

Any updates you make to your account between now and our data upload at the end of the month will be overridden. If you note there are adjustments that need to be made to your phone numbers and labeling of phone numbers, please ensure they are updated in Genesis.

Thank you! Please let us know if you have any questions! Click to email us...

A Welcome Back Letter from our PTO Co-Presidents

Dear Brayton Families,

On behalf of the PTO Executive Board, we are excited to welcome you to what promises to be an outstanding year at Brayton! We are honored to serve as your Co-Presidents and cannot wait to share the programs and events we have planned for our school community.

The PTO’s mission is simple but important: to make Brayton the very best it can be for our students, families, and teachers. Each year we bring enrichment to the classroom and fun to the school calendar through cultural arts assemblies like The Earth Dome and The Number Drummer, Art in the Classroom, the Spring musical, International Night, the Harlem Wizards, our annual Fall Fest, and the always popular Brayton’s Got Talent show. We also support our teachers with extra funding for classroom programs and supplies, and show our appreciation through special events for them.

None of this happens without our families. Your PTO membership and participation make everything possible. When you join, your contribution goes directly toward the programs, events, and resources that shape the Brayton experience. And when you volunteer, whether for an hour at an event or as a committee leader, you help build the spirit and connection that make our school community so strong.

We invite you to start the year with us at our PTO sponsored Welcome Back to School Family Party on Friday, September 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on the Brayton blacktop. It is a great chance to reconnect after the summer, meet new families, and celebrate the start of another great school year.

Brayton is a special place because of the people who make up this community. Together, we can make this year our best yet. Go Bobcats!

Seeking Host for 4th Grade Brayton Bash!

School is approaching fast and that means it's almost time for one of our favorite school traditions: Brayton Bashes! Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade families already have their Brayton Bash hosts lined up. Now we just need one family from 4th to step up so we can get invitations sent out.

If you haven’t been to a Brayton Bash before, it's a great way for parents with kids in the same grade to get to know each other in a relaxed and kid-free environment. It can be as easy as “come hang out in our backyard” or as fancy as you want to make it. We’ve seen everything from potluck snacks to themed cocktails, and the best part is just getting to know each other.

We need to make sure every grade has a Bash! This is a great way to contribute to the PTO, especially if you don't have time for an ongoing commitment but you want to be a part of building community. You can help kick off the year in a fun way!

Here’s how it works:

  • You pick the date. It's usually a Friday or Saturday night in September or the first half of October
  • Check the attached signup sheet for open dates so we don’t overlap with other grades
  • If needed, PTO will chip in up to $400 toward expenses for each Bash
  • Once the date is set, we’ll get invitations out when school starts so everyone can plan ahead

Sign up today to grab your date. Hosting is easy, fun, and such a great way to connect with other parents in your grade.

Thanks for helping us keep the Brayton Bash tradition strong! Please send an email to jennyhoff1022@gmail.com if you have any questions.
